Nike Mind 001: neuroscience-based footwear

What is Nike Mind 001?

According to Nike, Nike Mind 001 is a mule-style slide that is easy to slip on and off. On its product pages, Nike calls it Pregame Mules, meaning slides to wear before a game, and also refers to it as slides on the Nike Mind page. According to Nike, Mind 001 and Mind 002 are the brand’s first neuroscience-based footwear: they are designed to activate sensory receptors in the feet and help athletes focus before and after competition. How do the nubs on Nike Mind 001 work?

According to Nike, each shoe has 22 independent foam nubs connected to a flexible, water-resistant material. They are anatomically positioned and move independently in a piston-like rhythm, pressing against the foot with every step and engaging sensory areas of the brain. Underneath them is soft foam in the midsole, while the stretchy fabric on the insole gives the nubs room to move up and down. Rubber elements at the toe and heel provide traction, and the knit tongue is perforated. The Nike product page also lists the American Podiatric Medical Association Seal of Acceptance.

When does Nike Mind 001 launch?

Nike officially unveiled Mind 001 and Mind 002 on October 23, 2025, and announced they would go on sale starting in January 2026 on Nike.com and at select stores, in men’s and women’s sizes.
